After the 2000 elections, the state legislature mandated that all counties convert to a precinct-based tabulation system and in 2002, Ms. Griffin sucessfully led voters in the transition and use of the Election Systems and Software M-100 Precinct Scanners/Counters. Effective in July of 2005, state and federal legislation requires a voting unit that is accessible to the disabled comminity in each precinct. In order to be in compliance with this new requirement, Ms. Griffin chose to purchase the touch screen voting system from Election Systems & Software that is certified in the state of Florida. This unit was made available in each precint beginning with the 2006 September Primary Election.
